Exercise During Pregnancy

Exercise is GREAT during pregnancy! Low impact exercise is ideal like…Yoga, Swimming, or Walking. You don’t want to let your heart rate go above 140 beats/minute during your exercise. You tend to sweat more during pregnancy. Therefore make sure you are staying well hydrated. Get a big water bottle and keep drinking all day. Remember during pregnancy you should be drinking about 1 gallon of water per day. I really like this water bottle on amazon. Lastly, if you find that you are becoming short of breath decrease the intensity of the exercise.

A really great website to look into is ToughMamas.com I met these ladies at the ABC Kids Expo. They have a program for exercise during pregnancy and postpartum as well! I love that you can exercise at home with Tough Mamas! And it’s a great workout as well! I have a video explaining more about Tough Mamas and what I learned about them at the Expo. Definitely check it out!!!

Exercise is great to do in general but is especially important during pregnancy! (Always make sure you confirm that your doctor or nurse midwife is okay with your exercise while pregnancy if you have any high risk complications!)
